Facts:

    1. Samuel Rutherford got his education from Jed burgh Grammar School and later he completed his M.A from Edinburgh University in 1621.
    2. 1n 1623, he joined University with responsibilities of a Latin tutor.
    3. As a Minister of Anwoth in Kirkcudbrightshire, he settled down.
    4. Because of his nonconformity, The High Commission brought his ministry in Anwoth to an end in July 1636.
    5. In 1638, Rutherford moved back to the Anwoth and was a commissioner of the Glasgow Assembly.
    6. He left for London as a Scottish Commissioner to the Westminster Assembly.
    7. In 1644, he denied that a limitless jurisdiction belonged to the King and challenged that the Crown is awarded by the voluntary consent of the people, who are at liberty to counter a tyrant..
    8. He resumed his duties as St Andrews and made Principal of St, Mary’s in 1647.
